POSITION: Kitchen and Taproom Team member at our 46th St. Taproom ( 4601 N College Ave.)

REPORTS TO: Kitchen Lead and Owners

STATUS: Hourly – Non-Exempt

 

The Kitchen and Taproom Team member at Guggman Haus at 46th Street is a versatile position that encompasses both kitchen and bar work, with a focus on kitchen prep and food preparation and service. This position is responsible for preparing food items for kitchen service, preparing food items as items are ordered, delivery of food to tables and cleaning of all kitchen equipment and service dishes. The person in this position must also demonstrate flexibility to be cross trained for beer service behind the bar and register use as well.  The person in this position must uphold the standard of excellent customer service to contribute to the welcoming, neighborhood vibe at the 46th Street taproom.  This position is part-time. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completes all food prep tasks needed/assigned

  • Cleans all dishes, work stations, cooking equipment, and food storage areas in accordance with food safety regulations

  • Prepares food items for daily use by washing, chopping, shredding,  grating ingredients following appropriate safety procedures

  • Prepares food during service according to provided recipes, with excellent attention to quality presentation

  • Demonstrates ability to produce ordered food items in fast-paced environment with attention to detail and customer service

  • Demonstrates flexibility to create recipes as new specials roll out each week

  • Demonstrates desire to be creative and adapts easily to change within the kitchen and taproom setting 

  • Delivers food to tables as needed throughout service 

  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment and ensures cleanliness in all areas, adhering to Health Dept. Standards 

  • Continually assures cleanliness by bussing tables of glasses, kitchen smallwares, and trash

  • Helps behind the bar as needed; able to properly pour and serve beer and other ordered beverages

  • Checks customer identification before serving beer and follows all state and federal alcohol laws

  • Fills growlers/bullets and pours pints and flights as instructed by the manager

  • Acts as a team player and jumps in to help where needed in the taproom space

  • Provides friendly and welcoming customer service 

  • Maintains ATC serving certification and any other required certifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least two (2) years of experience in a Food & Beverage environment

  • Ability to work well as a team with other staff members

  • Must be results oriented with the ability to meet the required timelines

  • Must be knowledgeable of and adhere to local health codes

  • Ability to be creative with food presentations and maintain a high quality product

  • Have an exceptional attention to detail

  • Understanding of basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and ServSafe requirements 

  • Ability to follow SOPs and sanitation guidelines and practices

  • Willingness to extend general beer knowledge in addition to learning Guggman Haus beer styles, history and company values

  • Ability to multitask in an often fast-paced environment

  • Ability to effectively communicate with other team members and customers

  • Basic problem solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires stooping, lifting, walking and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 30-50lbs on a regular basis.
